I have been going to this same Home Depot since it opened about 9 years ago and getting pretty good service and some good pricing. I was receiving a slight discount for large purchases, and I have a Home Depot credit card, which I usually tally about a thousand dollars a month on... Then all of a sudden, no more discounts. And the service has gone way downhill. And now I find out I bought a defective air compressor. I have had it a year and used it maybe a total of 60 hours, just shooting a trim gun. I tried to return it, and they told me I am two weeks late bringing it back. I was none too happy, and I let the service clerk know it.
So I take it home and take the cover off, and lo and behold, it is just a broken belt. So I try to find a belt and discover I can't get that belt unless I buy a new $123 tax and shipping unit to go with it. Are you kidding me?
I got a Lowe's card a couple of months ago. Now Lowe's is about 4 miles farther away, but I get a 5% discount on all purchases, and I don't mind the extra miles as long as I don't have to feel as if I am getting ripped off every time I need a tool or piece of wood. I don't know who is worse, Home Depot or Husky. But I for one am going to avoid both of them every chance I get. It is really a shame that companies making that much money can't own up to their mistakes and correct them. If I did that to a customer, I would be ashamed of myself...
