This is the most dishonest, dispicable company I have ever come across. We sold our home in 2006. Called DirecTV to cancel service stating we were moving out of state, were told to take the receivers with us. 6 months later we bought a home in our current state and called DirecTV for service. Each month the charge was on my credit card and we kept service until Nov.
They continued to charge after we canceled service so we disputed the charges with our cc company and had the charges removed in 2010. July 16 we get a letter from a collection agency regarding DirecTV. Called DirecTV to find out what was going on. Surprise, shock and anger. We are told we have 2 accounts and that we never cancelled service at the home we sold, and that we had agreed to what they call suspension. LIARS!
I am demanding that they show me where I had agreed to anything of the sort, but of course, they never put anything in writing. It's your word against theirs. When we got service in our new state, they activated service at the home we had sold. Each month I saw the charges on the credit card, knew we had DTV and I paid. Come to find out, hubby handles checking and was also paying via debit card, neither of us knew we were paying twice. They will not admit to their error in setting up 2 accounts or refund the money we paid for service we never got since we had moved. Their attitude is oh, sorry, you only have 60 days to dispute a bill. You paid on the account and never contacted us. Well, of course I paid, I thought it was for the account at the new house and their is no account number on the creditcard bill.
Where do they get off thinking that if you don't catch them it's okay to steal from you? They insist we had 2 accounts and are liable for all charges at both locations. They are a vile, disgusting, immoral company and I wouldn't do business with them again if they were the only company out there. Lesson to all, do not give them your creditcard info or you may end up just like us. I wish some government agency would do something about them, they need to be stopped.
