I saw a magazine article that spoke highly of Bidrack which led me to peruse the site. All I recall is seeing a "register free" as a first step. I furnished all of the required information including (stupidly I guess) my credit card number which I thought would only be used if I won a bid. I never saw a statement that I was authorizing a charge for $99.00 for the privilege of using the site.
I have participated in Ebay auctions various times and never ever once had a problem - so I was lulled into thinking nothing bad would happen with Bidrack. Wrong! I just received my credit card invoice and there is a charge for $99.00 from Bidrack. I called them and was informed that I had purchased bids for an Ipad - which was news to me since I had no idea I was buying bids. The representative was not at all empathetic and would not discuss my plea for credit.
I called my credit card company to file a complaint - they called Bidrack while I was on the line and the Bidrack rep indicated that I had placed bid, and could only "escalate" my request for credit to another department. I am to receive their e-mail decision within the next few days. From the sound of her unconcerned response I am not hopeful of receiving a positive resolution which one would expect from a decent reliable company.
I am a senior citizen on a limited income and while I was lookng for a "bargain" I now am faced with the loss of $99 for absolutely nothing. This hurts.
