I had a particularly bad experience at the Monro on N. 21 St.in Newark, Ohio. I had called ahead and advised the manager I was on a tight budget and needed to get only what was "absolutely necessary" repaired. I took my car in and received a call later that morning from the manager advising me the minimum bill would be around $678.00. Asked him what was wrong, etc. I called another mechanical shop in the are and received a verbal quote of $350.00 for about the same work. I called Monro back and advised them to not proceed - I would take it elsewhere. The manager was nice at first and I didn't try to make any waves. I advised him that the repairs were too high. The manager thought for a moment and, out of the blue, called me a "fu*ing idiot." And told me to "get the f*k out of his shop and never come back."" We don't need your business - you people who can't afford to take care of their cars, etc..." I was stunned. Having been in business for years, I had never heard ANYONE talk to anyone like that. I can tell you that I will recommend to all of my friends and family who are regular customers of Monro not to return...
