Experian And Federal Trade Commission
Violation of Federal Settlement and FTC Lack of Filing, Notice to US Court., DC

FTC filed suit against Experian for violations of the Federal Consumer Reporting Act. Experian reached a settlement that was filed in Federal Court. The settlement included that Experian would investigate any contention of misreporting, but would have people available during working hours, if problems were not rectified. Experian, via the "800" number as published by the FTC, only gives the consumer another number to call, automatically.

They claim a consumer's file is kept locally to to call another number. Calling that number only allows you electronic contacts, and no individual can be reached. This has been documented by Congressman. FTC has been notified of this violation, but has failed to take any action, to date. Experian paid a 1 million fine as settlement, but is not in compliance. Have requested a Congressional Review of FTC and lack of compliance with filed settlement.
