My minor child is another victim of the "Invoicing Bureau" of Hearst Corp. Same MO as other respondents: "... Your order remains unpaid..." yadayada "... Now past due... Enclose your check..." Insulting and vaguely threatening, all in bold black, white and red lettering.
As with other victims, no "order" or [re]subscription was requested by the victim, which is why no payment was sent. No phone number, email or web address was provided anywhere on the "invoice." This cannot be anything but deliberate. G.L. Valk is noted as the "Notification Officer" on the form, but there is no information on the form which the victim can use to contact him/her. Is this a real person? And can they be indicted for fraud? Is this the disastrous result of Hearst Corporation's careless "outsourcing?"
This parent has noted the phone numbers helpfully provided by other victims and hopes to resolve the problem verbally. Meanwhile, a scathing letter has gone out to the "Notification Officer" or his/her subordinate or representative, with a copy sent to Hearst Corporation in NY (300 W. 57th Street, NY, NY 10019, Attention Customer Service Department) alerting them that they have contracted an unscrupulous "billing" agency, and as a result, have forfeited all future patronage from this outraged and insulted consumer/parent.
