Los Angeles Superior Court Metropolitan Branch
Not Allowed Time of to Bond with Newborn Adopted Baby

I adopted my son when he was 1 day old. I put in a request to take 8 weeks off to my Court Manager, Greg Brair 2 months before my son came. I was told by my supervisor Cindy Marin that everything was fine. When my baby came, I was denied time off by the court administrator, Greg Blair. He told me on the phone that he was not going to allow me time off. There are hundreds of people there and I asked him why I could not take off. I was only cashing out checks. I told him that I had to take time off to find a Babysitter. The courts was not going to allow me to just leave the baby with anyone. They had to be License Child Care Providers. Greg did not care. He told me I had to come to work or he was going to take displinary actions. I tried to reinstate a year and a half later but was denied. I lost 25 years of service and all of my benefits. I applied for unemployment and it was granted. The judge did not understand why I was not granted time off either. I was discriminated against by Greg Blair. Other people who worked for the same department have quit and came back to their same positions. A few of them was pregnan. I want my time back and to be reinstated back to my job as a Court Service Assistant II. I want all of my benefits and all of my time back. I was forced to resign.
