You would not beleive how or what the court systems did and are yet doing to me.in 10 I had a little boy. Everytime the father was upset or I no longer wanted a relationship with him, he would not help me support the child. However, I walked out of this abusive relationship and filed for child support. For almost 3 years my life was a living hell. This man had me in and out of court because he refused to pay me child support. However, he was fighting for full custody. It never was about the child, it was all about me. I have almost 3 years worth of different court orders. Even though he never abided by any of them. He kept my son away from me so that he could prove to the courts that he was taking care of the child and that I wanted nothing to do with my own son. Even though there was a court order, he would not let me have my son.
We would go back to court and I will let the judge know that I haven't seen my son. He would convince the judge that he tried to let me see my son but I told him that I didn't have time or would not meet him at the location that was arranged through the court oder. I even had police reports where I was trying to get my child. The police and me even went to his house several times to get my child, but he would not give him up. The police stated that they could not get involved with taking the baby because it was a civil case. Detroit police tried to work with me, but Dearborn Heights told Detroit that it was not ther jurisdiction.
We were order to go to mediation on 1. He really had a lot of lies to tell then. I don't remember the child's welfare or his well-beings coming up to much in our session. It was all the lies about me and the men I date and everything to make me look and seem unfit. However, I wasn't too unfit for him to have me. Mediation in 1/05, was the first time I had seen my son since Oct. 2004. I never spent not one holiday or birthday with my son. Yet, there is a court order. I took my son to visit his grandmother, because she wanted to visit with him. Each time my family came to Detroit they were never allowed to see my son, because the father would not let them. The courts did say that I had no right to do that. I never truied to keep my son away from his father. He was always welcome to see him. I worked a lot and it would havce been cheaper on me.
On 2, mediation ruled that he would have physical custody. This man had gotten fired from his job in 2004. He didn't have time for my child. He was living with a sick ex-wife, an artistic son and another mentally ill child. I had great concerns for my child. When I sa him, I could tell no one was taking time with him, all of this was being done out of spite. On 2/28/05, my son died from morphine intoxication, in the custody of his father. What do you think the system can say to me now. I fault them for not seeing through a fool.
However, foc has since sent a letter to my employer garnishing me for $4900 in back child support, when the fathjer was ordered to pay. They did this on the grounds that he actually was keeping the child. He was not suppose to be keeping the child, he just would not let me see him. He did this so that he could prove to foc that I should pay him child support. It is obvious he was not concerned about the child, when my son was found in the bed dead a couple of hours later. He had also taken the medication earlier that day. Did you not notice the change in him? Then the father tried to lie at first and say that the child had fallen because he had been acting sick all day because of a cold that he had. All this due to your amazing system. I even went through a lot more than this.
For almost 3 years it never ended. They never asked once how you would support your child. He was fired from his job in the middle of 2004. He had no income, not even unemployment. Not only that he was fired for drinking and getting high on the job. The police arrested him. I am living with this every day. It still seems like a bad dream.
