Disappointed in service received on 7/2/10.invited a couple to join us for dinner at Monroe Ave, Rochester NY location. Kelsey S (Table #40) was our server. The place was only 1/4 full with an additional group at the bar. I specifically asked if the mushrooms that were described in the dish I ordered could be omitted. Kelsey assured me that that would be no problem. After a long wait, Kelsey apologized for the long delay. After another several minutes, our dinners were brought out. I was served last and my dinner came complete with MUSHROOMS. I detest mushrooms. Kelsey did come back to see how our dinners were and I told her that she assured me I would have no mushrooms but I did. She rolled her eyes at the kitchen and said they were just crazy back there! That was it - no offer to replace the dinner with what I had requested. Just a silly smile as if all was good in the world. Our bill came to $79.78. Believe me - it will be the last time I go to Applebees. If the place had been packed I could understand a mistake in the kitchen but it was almost empty. How can you take an order, assure a person they will get what they ordered and then just smile as if - touch luck!
