I was contacted by telephone by a representive claimin to be affiliated with Creative Vacation Solutions (CVS). He stated that he had prospective buyer interested in the purchase of my timeshare located in the mountains of North Carolina, and quoted a asking price of $14,786 which was twice the amount I had previously had it listed for with another compamy.
I was asked for my credit card information in order to charge $1,886.00 to start the legal work to verify the title details and details of the managing company for my timeshare. The $1886 was to be refunded at closing. The CVS rep. Caught me at a guliable moment and I very much wanted his speel to be on the up and up. Foolishly, I complied.
A contract was to be FedExed to the next day and I received it the next day. The contract wasn't much. It stated the contract was good for 120 days, or CVS would renew contract at no additional cost. It also states that my credit card was charged the non-refundable, non-disputable charge. This sounds contrary to the CVS's rep. That the charge would be refunded at closing.
I asked that $1886 be credited to my card. Two weeks later no credit has not been issued to my account.
All the negative comments made bY CVS customers on this site and others influenced be to not sign the contract and requested a credit for the amount charged to my account.
RECCOMENDATION: Do your home work before you commit to something that sounds too good to be true.
