I worked for Valley Farmers Co-Op from 11-15-06 to 4-6-09 I was laid off on the 4-6-09 date. I was told they had no work for me. I like many americans have a morgage payment and many other bills that do not care if your laid off from work. I also have two children to support. I had signed a Non-Compete agreement on February 10th of 2007. My boss Eric Risser had told me he was going to start sending me to schools and that I needed to sign the form so I could go to these schools.
Well I signed it and was only sent to one very basic school. It was called basic milker tech. The Non-Compete says it in for and in consideration of hiring. Although I did not sign until almost three months after being hired. I asked my Boss Eric Risser if he could remove the Non compete so I could work to support my family. He stated he could not and that if I tried to fight the Non Compete he would give a bad report to possible employers calling to ask about me and that if I did not fight it he would give me a good report. He told me this once on my cell phone and once in person. Both were audio recorded.
I have since sent him several e-mails asking for his help. He told me to go to places I had put applications in and get copies of them and to bring them to him. He said that may change his opinions. Here I am with bills piling up and my credit on the verge of being trashed and he wants me to spend gas money running around trying to get things like that. You see another company had offered me a job doing the same type of work.
I could have been working by now and paying my bills. But Valley Farmers Co-Op has to much pride to help a person out. Eric Risser goes to church all the time and once told me he is a man of god. But now when I turn to him for help he turns away. I got to get food stamps that Tax payers pay for because Valley Co-Op wants to hold me to a paper. My home and everything could be lost because they do not want to help me. I remember a time I had a car crash and was out of work almost a month.
It got to the point I was on Crutches and asked if I coulkd return on them. See at that time I worked a desk job. They told me it was a liability and I could not return on crutches. Well the new dask guy had broke his foot and had to use crutches and was back at work the next day with no doctors note. I had to have one. I also got proof of all this. I had sent a letter to Freddy Brewster asking to be released from the Non Compete and he never even got back to me. His only consern was how I found out certain information about Valley Coop.
As many of you know jobs are very hard to come by right now. Well I got a job offer that I could work and support my family but Eric risser does not want that. He sent me another e-mail saying they need to try to treat people fair who leave with a Non Compete. He was refering to a guy that was not laid off. A guy quit Valley Co-Op that had been there many years and that many farmers liked.
He quit because Eric Risser put a 22 year old in charge of him. And after he quit he went to work for competition and did not even ask Valley Co-Op to realease him from it. As I have asked several times. Sure I could get a lawyer to fight this. But how do you do that when you got no money? Valley Co-Op is a pretty big company who is currently building a new store. But they sure don't care about a family. We could not have a home soon. But does Eric Risser care? No he does not.
