Withheld my salary

Hi,

Me and my husband did work for Indus IT valley Inc from feb'06 to july '06.

We were actually subcontractors for this company, but there was no legal contract between my parent company and Indus It valley. So we did work for this company for almost 6 mnths.

When the project got over and we quit Indus IT valley the company withheld $8000 from our salary saying this would go towards the training costs as we did not work for the company for 1 year.

As there was no legal contract signed between us we were free to quit the company at anytime. This is a company that does not pay the employees fairly.
Any one please help us get our hard earned money back.
