Royal Caribbean is inconsistent in their discounts and surcharges and "perks". I understand that a base price for a cruise varies according to occupancy levels like the airlines. But I was charged a single supplement fee (surcharge) while others were not, I was not given the "California discount" while others were, I paid the same price for ONE cruise while another got the continuation of the cruise for almost the same price (perk.) The British on the ship were angry that they paid almost full price while the Dominicans paid a cut rate bottom price so they also discriminate on nationality. They had done this before with an Asian cruise and people from Hong Kong who paid much less than the other passengers. They say they work with the travel agents, but THEIR reservation agents are informing passengers that if they find out that the fare goes down, they will get a refund if they did NOT book through a travel agent, which is discriminatory.
I hope a law firm that takes this will heavily advertise because on my cruise "Vision of the Seas" out of Santa Domingo there were many that were unhappy in the inequity of the pricing (and basically how lowball the cruise was) and hope that this will make them more fair in their pricing structure and if people find out and ask for some redress that they are willing to work with them.
I tried to do so with a cruise credit as I wasn't out for the money to gouge them, I just wanted some fairness in what I paid, but they wouldn't budge and I don't want anyone else to go through what I went through day after day finding out how I was continually being ripped off.
You may notify the business but they said they will do nothing and that is their final word.
