I was a long time customer of direct tv, I upgraded to a new tv. I called for a new dish forHD. I asked if there were ANY charges or any new contract. I was told no repeatedly. After the installer was here 4 hrs, he handed me 2 papers to sign. Never did he tell me one was a "lease agreement" a contract for 24 months. I argued with him about what I was told. All he ever siad was "I just install" I asked him to call someone which he did. They gave me no other choice, either sighn it Or I would be responsable for the install even though I never authiorzed any agreement that involved a contract. Direct TV States they record calls, Why cant they pull my call to Direct tv, as I asked repeatedly and was assured I was just upgrading my system, and people do it all the time, and it was part of what I pay for in my bill every mopnth. I have read over 500 complaints on rip off reports and other online blogs about the same thing happening. This is FRAUD. Monday or Tuesday I am contacting The DA in Denver, The FCC and the BBB I am not satisfied at all. When I registered on this site I think the email was one charachter off, my email is [email protected], allthough I am sure there will be no satisfaction from Direct tv.
