I joined Ambit Energy as a consultant about two years ago and paid $419. I managed to recruit some customers to convert from Con-Edison to Ambit but Ambit never gave me any commissions. They also charge $29 per month ($348 per year) for an affiliate website and if you don't pay the monthly fee then they terminate your account. That is what exactly happend to me when I couldn't afford to pay the monthly fee they close down my account and simply took my $419. I have filed a complain to FTC about this matter.
According to FTC, Pyramid scheme is illegal and that is exacly Amit Energy is. It is a Pyramid scheme to scam people and take their money. They disguise as an energy company but their core business is dealing with the Pyramid scheme. I also filed a complain for illegal pyramid scheme to New York Attorney Gereral office and they are investigating in this matter. I definately want my $419 back and if Ambit doesn't want to return then I will fully cooperate with the bureaus in their ongoing investigation. FTC has posted an alert at http://www.ftc. Gov/speeches/other/dvimf16. Shtm for this type of scam which resembles the ponzi scam by Bernard Medoff but the only difference is Ambit disguise by carrying Energy as their product. FTC has warned public about this type of scam.
According to the mounting complains on the internet about Ambit Energy scam, over 95% of people who joined Ambit quit and lose their money. If you are the victim of this Ambit Pyramid game you should report to FTC and New York or Taxes attorney general office.
