I am not at all shocked to see other people complaining about this person.
Last year we found this man on getafreelancer. To start of with, with various meetings this guy really seemed to know his stuff, although was very brass about his current wealth. All went ahead and expensive equipment was bought and the programming began.
We wanted a phone system to be built to help grow or business and monthly deposits began to flow.
The work started and not being to technically minded went along with the flow giving my opinions when they where neccessary. This is where things started to go wrong. We needed extra equipment and by now the costs where already starting to spiral and the time it was takeing was getting longer and longer but the cash was still flowing.
He came over to the UK to meet us to get equipment setup (Which we paid for). While he was here, he was apprently having bank account issues back in south africa and was basically left pennyless. So we had to dip into our pockets to pay for everything bar the actuall hotel. (He did however find money to buy a laptop from pcworld on the last day).
While he was apparently at the airport to leave to return home, we got a phone call to say he had no flight home, and no means to pay for it would we lend him the money for the air fare. So we did and while he was at it orderd a upgrade at our expence.
By now we where not getting fustrated and starting to feel on edge if this person could actually accomplish what we had set out to do. So we decided in the end to call a end to it all. When one of our new engineers went through what had been done the standard was totally shocking and was at a very basic level.By now he had thousands of pounds from us, was holding onto equipment which we had bought, and we where left with a useless piece of code which in the end had to scrap and start from scratch.
Getting hold of him was a real pain in the rear end towards the end. We had every excuse known to man, here are some examples.
1. Power outages caused by his gouverment
2. Funerals
3. Signing pre numptuals with his wife to be.
By now my patience was getting the better of me, and everything in his eyes always seemed to come down to something I had done or not done. When we decided we wanted our equipment returned we got solicitors involved things got nasty. This is only a small percentage of the story as this dragged on for over 10 months.
He also has a side kick who goes by the name of deon, he also has a women director working for him in the UK I have her name if anyone is intrested.
Whatever you do, dont ever go near him. He is very good at what he does and thats taking innocent companies money by promising the earth and delivering very little or nothing at all. Whenever you question it your in for a bumpy ride. If any other UK companies are intrested in joining forces against these people (Some already are) then please contact us. I have copies of all corrispondance and have kept all bank statements and reports.
