In Oct I purchased a transmission from a vendor on eBay. I paid the vendor with PayPal. I purchased the rebuilt transmission from Phoenix Remantransmissions for 518.00. I was then told I needed to pay them 300.00 dollars for shipping and 350 for a core charge, which was refundable when the old transmission was shipped back. The 300.00 was for shipping both ways, 150 each.
When the transmission arrived it was cracked. I contacted the vendor and nothing happened. I filed a complaint with PayPal, #PP571-851-993 for 819.00 and #PP 599-857-212 for 350. PayPal investigated these complaints and awarded me my money. Now they will not pay me. They have a 2000.00 purchase protection guarantee and will not stand behind it. They told me the vendor has no funds in his account, so they cannot pay me.
The transmission I had to send back and pay for shipping again, by their rules. This cost me 150 more. So now I have won my 350.00, which they will not pay, and it has cost me another 150.00 to ship the transmission to a company that has no one working there anymore. I am out 1319.00 so far, and they still have not answered what to do with the transmission that has no place to go.
PayPal guarantees purchases made through them and I did everything right, but now they will not refund my money. The vendor will not even respond to my questions, so I went through the channels and got nothing for my 1319.00.
