I totally agree with you about the Law Offices of Frank Sorrintino.
I went there to check on filing for bankruptcy. He started with a price of $1,600.00 then (in mins.) it went up to $1,800.00 and then finally $2,000.00.
I was in the middle of a divorce. Nevada being a community property state, I found out within an hour of leaving his office that filing what papers were filled out would put me in very hot water with the divorce court.
I, therefore, called to cancel within 2 hours! He would not respond to faxes or calls (always claimed he did not get them) so finally, I called my bank and filed for a dispute.
Six months later, the dollars are still going back and forth.
He states he gave me a refund... Amt so small I sent the checks back... But continues to press for a FULL return of the money by the bank.
When he first found out about the bank deduction from his account, he had one of his paralegals (Mike Zamarripa) call and YELL at me more than once.
Luckily, I left the first call go to voice mail and still have it on my phone.
Mr. Sorrentino should have known that a bankrupcy in the middle of divorce court would be not only 'frowned upon', but could, in some cases, be ILLEGAL.
Did he tell me that? HECK NO! He just wanted the money.
Did you note the revolving door action of his offices? That should have clued me in but I was so frantic at the time that I ignored my better instincts.
This man is trying to charge $400/hr for time when he is seeing OTHER CLIENTS! (He is trying to say he spent from 11:45 to 4:30 pm with me. HA!
He also wants to charge for "office managers" etc. According to the divorce judge, a lawyer cannot charge for that. The judge requested an accounting of the billable time... But (wouldn't you know it) Mr Sorrentino claimed never to have gotten that request either!
This man should be put out of business. But Vegas being Vegas, no one is likely to do anything.
