Filed a notice of motion through their attorneys in Chicago, Illinois

I received a motion filed to appear in court at the Daley Center in Chicago on Sept 2. And present the motion paper. The file date was for July 25th, today is August 6th.
I: 1). Never heard of this company
2). Haven't had the name they approached me with for over 25 years (divorce) that I can remember but possibly 12 years if you consider me getting mail and responding
to the name, but I was allowed to use my married name by the judge legally if I wanted to.

I have been married to someone since for ten years.
I had people approach me on that name 5 years ago, called them about it and ended up having them rip off my bank account after I agreed to pay a debt that
I did not remember what it was for, they took an additional amount without okaying it with me first and I found out they had no business collecting at all.
I hope this isn't the same company. I was in the process of clearing up my credit report back then in order to qualify for home buying.

All sorts of places came out of the woodwork that I hadn't heard of back then and I paid little debts here and there thinking my ex may have incurred them. A call to the FTC cleared that up!

Now, here is the confusion. No description of the debt, no time frame, and the next page is titled: "MOTION TO DISMISS CAUSE" It reads as follows: NOW COMES, the plantiff, MRC RECEIVABLES CORPORATION, by it's attorneys, Blatt, Hasenmiller, Leibsker & Moore, LLC and moves this court to dismiss this cause without predjudice. Does this mean they brought it to court and dropped it?

They have never called or attempted to contact me that I am aware of in the three years I have been at my home at this address. And if there is not a problem "why" bother to waste the environment by junking it up with unnecessary paper and ink, not to mention stress me out... Or, am I liable for getting another bad mark on my credit report depending on the outcome on Sept. 2nd, because I have NO INTENTIONS OF BEING 65 miles away
from my home for this bunk!

I feel like taking all these "corporations" and their attorneys that bother to tell you about things that one otherwise would not know, and counter-sue for polluting the earth.

An anyone tell me what this means or should I look up the case number with the circuit court and investigate this on my own?
