Recently I tried to connect with an individual I had an appointment with and needed directions. I stopped at a public payphone in a Restaurant lobby and used up my change on the first call. Desperate, I pulled out my Debit card and continued to make several more attempst. The next day my account showed each Debit card attempt had billed at $11.27 and the toll charges had run thru Grand Duchy, Great Britian! I called my bank and they said I was SOL since the charges looked legit. I found this website and other complaints about Fair Call, the billing company according to my bank contact information. I called and was told the $11.27 was their minimum charge per call for using a credit card. Sure makes getting a cell phone seem cheap.
