I recieved a letter the beginning of May stating that I had been awarded a grant for 39,000, 000 inclosed was a check for 3,480, 00 a deduction from my total grant to pay for taxes and fees.
The letter stated that I was to call and ask for George Thompson or Wendy Johnson and give my claim number. I was told to deposit the check then go immediatly to western union and send 1,950, 00 dollars to Carla Thompson 7869 Jones Rd Houston Tx. 77065 to cover the taxes and fees.
After doing this I would recieve a second check for 37,050, 00 as a final award settlement within 3 to 5 business days by courier delivery. I deposited the check into my bank account. Of course I waited for it to clear, it did not!
This looked ligitament! Good thing I waited for the bank to clear the check, had I not waited I would have been out alot more money. Iam sure the phone bill alone will be bad enough, they had me call back several times.
There should be something done about this, It was heart breaking to think that I might have had this money to better my life and that of my doughter and grandchildren only to have our hopes dashed to the ground when we found out it was all a big scam. These people should be stopped! I want justice!
