How we (my wife and I) had wished that we came across this site as quickly as we came across Pete Spaziano from Mid Florida Contracting, we'd be better offer to the tune of a thousand dollars.
Just like every other victim of the man with the moral standards of a louse, we took a call from nasty Pete after searching for a contractor on the net to do a Stucco job on our recently purchased home in Kissimmee.
Having recently moved here from the UK we didn't know of anyone in the building trade and like everyone here on this site who has filed a report, we fell for Pete's bs and my wife handed him the thousand dollar check he said he needed before he would commence work. We agreed to pay what he quoted for doing the work on the basis that we thought it was a good price, we also agreed to hand over the deposit check on the basis that Pete knew that we are new residents to the USA and nobody knows us. Besides it didn't seem unreasonable at the time for Pete to be paid in advance for 'the materials', little did we know when handing over the check that there was no prospect of Pete keeping his side of the deal.
We paid the deposit check on 1/22/08 and instead of a start date for the work to commence we have had all the bs excuses going, just like all the others in all the reports on this page. Today (2/24/08) I sent Pete an email informing him of my intention to visit my Lawyer first thing the next day in order to establish my position from a legal viewpoint, I didn't know about this site at the time I sent the email and I thought that we were Pete's only victims.
Pete phoned me shortly after getting my email and got quite nasty and he told me that I have offended him, well Pete if you are reading this I am truly sorry and my heart bleeds. I'm almost speechless, Pete's offended. Well I'm not entirely full of the joy's of spring either after discovering this website and reading all these reports.
I am amazed that Pete has been able to pull this scam off so many times, here are some reports about those of us who have come forward, I wouldn't like to guess how many people haven't bothered. All these complaints seem to have the same charachteristics, and they also all seem to involve relatively small amounts of cash, is that because Pete probably thinks that people will think its not worthwhile pursuing? Well I've got news for you Pete - where I come from they call what you are doing 'theft' and taking by deception and I shall be going to the Police to report this and if there is a provision within the law that protects Pete or makes him ammune from prosecution then we shall be on the next plane back to where we came from.
I'd be extremely pleased to hear from anyone who wants to accompany me to the Police station to report this man and I look forward to hearing from them.
