My name is tony and i'm from the inside of pete spaziano's life.
We were introduced by mutual friends. Which led to me accepting a job for him. First let me explain how he runs his business:
It started off with him showing me the web site he uses for getting construction jobs.
He pays out anywhere from $300 to $600 a month to receive these leads.
He then notifies the homeowners with any information he can to bid on these jobs. He is not qualified in any way what so ever to perform any of these specific jobs himself. He runs his lakeland business out of his home.
Once contact is made with the homeowner, he always asks what is your budget and he can get a better deal on the material, no matter what it is. Once he wins you over by thinking you are going to save money, he'll ask for half down. That in itself should turn the light on to the scam.
After he receives the check for half the amount agreed, he makes a bee-line straight to the bank it is written on. Once it is cashed, he forgets about the job until someone comes around and asks if he has any work.
I own a lawn service company in lakeland and he hired me to build a sun deck/dock. He was responsible for the permits and insurance.
After beginning the job, and asking numerous times about the permits, he would never produce them. Then there was the problem with the materials, i would call pete to submit a material list to him, he would always say to me, "i'll get right back to you."
Then he wouldn't answer my calls for the rest of the day, and yes, his voicemail box was always full.
I have a signed contract by pete spaziano for this particular job, that states i was responsible for the installtion only and the job would begin july 2 and end july 6.
It took two days to get me the materials to start the job and two more days for 1/2 of the material to finish the job. The other half pete asked me to ask the homeowner to purchase.
The pete asked me to try and talk the homeowner into not staining the deck, because he had already spent the half down payment that the homeowner had given him. When this happened, i began thinking, this guy's crazy. Business shoudn't be done this way, so i did a search that night on the internet and i found these reports and thought i would write about my own experience.
When i told the homeowner pete couldn't buy more materials, he terminated the job and asked me to get my tools and leave. Now pete is not paying me for the labor i have done.
