In Dec Capital One raised my daughter's credit limit to $3500 from $500. She has had this card for the past 3.5 years and has had a zero balance since 4? 2007. Along with the increased credit limit, they also sent her 1.99 teal checks. The wording "to qualify" to use for these checks were very vague. I put them in her folder and forgot all about it. Received a letter dated January 29 that the previous letter of an increase was an error and her credit limit was actually $500. She wouldn't be charged any overage fees or late fees until April 1. We called and immediately closed the credit card. Thank goodness she didn't use this card. I just wonder to myself how many people did and how badly they will be crushed by fees!
