I purchased a previous "breeder" teacup poodle from Smallest Poodles 4U as a pet. My understanding is that she was to arrive healthy. I took her to my Vet 1 day after she arrived, and she had severe Gingivitis, had to have 11 teeth pulled, and had a Luxating Patella, which is a inherited defect that causes severe pain and lameness. I had to spend over $500 to have 11 teeth pulled and have her other teeth cleaned as she was in pain. My vet said she didn't know how much it would cost to fix the Luxating Patella, I would have to see an Orthopedic Surgeon, but it could be thousands of dollars.
I sent copies of the vet bill and information about the genetic defect (from my vet) to Tony.
My greatest concern is that my dog was used as a breeder and Tony has bred many puppies with this genetic defect -Luxating Patella - that can cause severe pain and cause a puppy to become lame. I want him to call every customer he sold one of her puppys to and have him tell them about the defect so they have an opportunity to talk to their vet about it. If anyone has purchase a puppy from Smallest Poodles 4U, and the mother was Cajun Roux, they should have a vet check their puppy for Luxating Patella.
His response was, "She is a pet, and was to go to a pet home, Not for breeding stock are anything else. You do have a guarantee. It is for full refund of the dog if your not happy with her, I can refund your full amount with the return of the dog. If your vet charged you 500.00 for teeth cleaning and pulling, They ripped you off! Please let me know when she will be flying back home."
I will not return my dog to a breeder that allow her to develop severe, painful dental problems and bred her with a genetic defect. I am not concerned about the money; I am concerned about my dog's health and the health of all her puppies. And also about the customers who bought her puppies.
