We agreed to purchase a show quality dog that was going to be show by the breeder for $3000. We found out within a couple months that this dog had a luxating patella, which is a known genetic defect. When we told the breeder we were not comfortable with purchasing a dog with a genetic defect the breeder offered us a puppy in its place saying that it would be ready the first week of January. This agreement took place in early November. I asked several times for pictures of this puppy and the breeder never sent any. On Dec. 11 the breeder said she refused to give us our dog claiming to have heard we were talking bad about her. We had paid $2500 towards the purchase of the show dog that had the genetic problem. When she refused to provide the puppy she stated that she would pay us back as she pleased. It has been well over a month since she refused to give us our dog and she has only paid us back $200 of our money that she owes us.
