My daughter's father (Christopher Leonard) refuses to pay child support, his most recent statement regarding child support was that he would rather go to prison then pay it.in 15 1/2 years I have only recieved 3 months for support in the amount of $125.00 each and once I recieved a tax intercept for $800.00. (The tax intercept I recieved only after the Montana Division of Child Support illegally withheld tax interecepts MINE FOR ONE YEAR, Look for the class action law suit.)
I have a court order but no one seems to be able to inforce it.
Christopher, who is an only child had a very wealthy mother who passed away a few years ago. My daughter was her only granddaughter and she absolutly adored my daughter. She told me and many others that she was going to pay for my daughter's college and spoke often obout how she had provided for her in her will. She was terminally ill and was aware she would not be with us much longer.
I am not looking for money that isnt there or trying to get something not deserved and court ordered.
I do beleive that Christopher's stepfather (Grampa Sam) and he, are hiding something regarding the will, there was never any service held for there has never been anything mentioned regarding a will or any provisons and although I have searched I can find no recording of her death anywhere.
Recently the stepfather went to Montana and bought a house for Christpher to live in or for him. I believe they do not put any assets in Christopher's name in order to avoid the child support issue.
Christopher is ingenous at avoiding paying support using a variety of methods such as self employment, working under the table, unemployment, work related injuries, filing for food stamps, etc.
Christopher also served a few years in a Montana prison (At Deerlodge) convicted of theft of convenient stores and grocery stores. During that time he was able to have the Montana Division of Child Support stop enforcement action, (as if they were ever able to inforce it anyway) citing no assets and the fact that my daughter would be over 18 when he was to be released. She was 12 when he got out, but I no longer have a case with them.
A provision of his parole is that he remain gainfully and legally employed. I spoke with his parole officer who did not know christopher had a daughter and an order for child support. Even though it is a violation of his parole he said they would not violate him for it.
I recently applied for state assistance here in california and you would think that this would get some support from him via wage garnishment, but its been about six months and now we hear that Christopher can no longer work at his job driving a tow truck, he is taking strong pain medication for headaches resulting from a vehicle accident that he was involved in.
It is very difficult for me to feel any sympathy for him when my daughter can not understand why her father does not love her enough to support her at all and wont even call or write at christmas and on her birthday let alone send her a gift. I have tried not to let her think he was a bad guy but he has proven it to her himself now and she is crushed by his neglegt.
This is not a guy who is hurting for money. His stepfather buys him whatever he needs, house, car, TVs, money in a bank account, that supposedly the parole officer has control of. His Stepfather lives on a huge boat here in San Diego and is planning on sailing around South America soon.
At any rate I could go on but you probably get the idea that this is one slimey dead beat dad who has no concience, feels no moral obligations to his daughter or society in general, or even his fellow felons, (he broke under pressure when arrested confessing to the crimes and implicating his partner as well, then later begged the judge to not sentence him to the same prison as he feared for his life.) He is a coward, a thief and a liar, and a perfect candidate for your television campaign. Go get him if you can!!!
