I am amazed at how many people have been took by JK Harris. It is funny to hear some people defend JK Harris and assume that the reason why things are not handled right are the fault of the client.
I have a story that is truly mind boggling. My wife has been on my case for the last couple of months to follow up on our OIC in which JK Harris was suppose to help. Of course I did it but not throughly.
However I received a shook when our tax refund was kept by the IRS. I contacted JK Harris before my wife got home to try and resolve the issue. That is when my specialist informed me that for 2 years the IRS is due any refund. I was never informed of that, but I said, "Cool... My bad". So I asked if there were any more surprises.
She informed me no and that a final letter had been sent out requesting 3 months documentation. Mind you this was the second time we received this "final documentation notice". The first "final letter" was in July.
However today I got the shock of my life when all my bank accounts were levied. I was informed at my initial visit 2 years ago that all levies would be stopped. This has caused me a lot of stress. All the monies to pay bills and to purchase medical supplies not covered by insurance are gone.
What makes my situation unique is I am a quadriplegic and the initial tax consultant informed me because of my condition I would be under the ETA tax law. Stating there was no reason that I would have my OIC denied.
It is funny to hear ones say to contact the resolution department. I think that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Why do we have to remind professionals to do a job they are trained to do. After all we went to them for help.
It seems that all of us have been taken for a ride. My next step (no pun intended) is to file a law suit. My question is should it be small claims or should I contact a lawyer to see if I have a case?
