If you like getting paid for working, don't work for Global Resources LTD. I received a message on my answering machine from Donna Capolongo about a month and a half ago. Donna asked me if I wanted to make $15 per hour setting up some computer hardware and software at a Chase bank in my area.
When I called back, this guy named Frank DeGiglio filled me in on this 'job'. I was to go to 280 Midtown Plaza (Rochester, NY) at 7pm for training on Mon, April 17. If you have ever been to Midtown, there are about 30 places to enter the building, and thank god I go there when I did because the place closes at 6pm!
This was the first thing that made me uneasy. I mean who sets up training in a place that closes at 6pm, an hour after they close? A bunch of shady, incompetent clowns thats who!
I was told repeatedly at the training seminar that I needed this 'paperwork, so that I would get paid. I had still not received this paperwork that they kept talking about. I called Donna, and Frank, and even went so far as to email Kathy Ragsdale (the one that went on and on about needed to have your paperwork, to get paid).
I was assured by all parties involved that I should not worry about it. I also asked Kathy if I should come in at 2pm, or 4pm (I had heard 4 different stories from the other clowns that I was dealing with, on the Global Resource end). I had an internship that day, and since this whole operation seemed like it was a joke, I was not going to commit to 2pm, and ditch my internship unless I was 100 % sure it was going to even happen.
The Friday came and Frank told me that the location changed!!! Instead of a place closer to my house, they wanted me to drive all the way out to The University Of Rochester! I was shaking my head, wondering why the gods cursed me with this crazy ordeal.
If you have even been to that campus, there is nowhere to park, and they scam you for parking. It took me forever and a day to even find the building. I arrived at 4pm, to be welcomed by the lead technician where have you been, you were supposed to be here at two? Once again, with 15 Chiefs that don't know how to even tie their shoes, it was no wonder why I came at 4pm, instead of 2pm.
The job itself went well, except for the bank employees that had the nerve enough to order Red Lobster takeout, without even asking if we wanted to order also. So as they ate steak and shrimp in from of us, we worked our tails off, and got the job done by 11:30 pm.
I was told by Daniel Cruthis that all I had to do was fill in the time sheet that he had, and I would get paid. Two weeks go by, and no money. I called Donna up to inquire about the situation. Her response you never filled out the time sheet - (well you air head, you and your clan of incompetent morons never sent me the paperwork, so how was I to fill it out, you knucklehead!?!?!?!). This was sounding more and more like they were trying to jive me around, and not pay me.
Donna was supposed to email me the paperwork. It never came; so I called AGAIN! Well I sent it to you, oh, what was your email again (I tell her) oh thats why, I had your email wrong! My god, where do they find these people. She is the V.P.? I have seen kids in sixth grade that could send an email properly, given that she had sent me emails at least three times before. I'm even more uneasy that this was a scam.
At last I get this blasted paperwork, I filled it out, scanned it, and emailed it back to her within an hour. She replied:

Don't ever work for these shifty idiots. They will not pay you, and they are a bunch of liars, and scoundrels. I should have known better, they are from Jersey.
And when you talk about calling the Labor Board, they get all defensive, and cranky about it.
