Lets start at the beginning. We were forced to move into these apartments after hurricane Rita due to a tree inside our old rental home. This was the only place available at the time.
We had to wait a week before we could move in to give them time to clean after the previous renter. When that time was up they asked for another week. Yet when that week was up the apt. Was still not cleaned. We moved in with dirty broken blinds, a moldy dishwasher, and a dirty stove and oven.
The bedroom door had been kicked in so it did not close, also to the same bedroom neither of the closet doors closed cause they were also broken.in the master bedroom there was a large hole that had been kicked in the wall. We also moved in with a broken window.
It took them a month and a half to fix the hole in the wall and the doors. After 4 months, still have dirty, broken blinds. Which they said they had ordered weeks ago. We have not used the dishwasher once due to the mold that has never been cleaned out. And our stove and oven was also never cleaned. They fixed the broken window within 3 days, but left another window that was cracked.
We have had our AC/heater go out at least 6 or 7 times in the last 4 months. Each time having to go up to 3 days without. I have been told by the maitenance man that there is only one 30 gallon hot water heater per every 4 apartment, which gives us only about 4 minutes of hot water at a time. Not enough time for a full shower. Especially not for 3 people.
On top of all that we had to call the fire dept out. Our whole apt filled with smoke. When the firemen got here the first thing they said to us was that it was probably the AC unit. They have had many problems here before. It ended up being insulation on the fan vent in the bathroom had caught fire.
I have a friend who lived here 3 yrs ago who worked on their plumbing for a few months free rent. He told them that their whole plumbing system needed to be replaced. They told him they didnt want to spend "that much money". Now I have been to the owners house. Its a 2 million dollar house I hear. So its not because they dont have the money. They own at least 3 apt complexes that I know of.
Aparantly I am not the only one with problems, Twice now I have been in the office to hear someone else complaining about the electrical and plumbing problems.
If anything else comes up I will add to this report. I have been very disappointed living here. And will tell anyone so. Do not rent here.
