In 2008 we bought a kitchen from HD. We applied for an HD account and got 1 year no interest payment. We paid in full well before the 1 year was over.
Recently we ran a credit score report and found out that we have a debt of $300 on the HD account. The phone number of the company that reports to the 3 bureaus is 800-677-0232. We tried to investigate the charges for a month but had no luck. Nobody knows what the charges are or who charged our account, and there are no supporting documents.
We finally decided to pay the account and be done with it, because we were in the process of refinancing the house. After we made the payment, still nothing got updated with Transunion, and it has been over a month. They are saying the account is closed, but they do not provide any info to the credit bureaus. We will never shop at HD again. Please help.
