No pay for over time, no help when promised, dangerous place to work, no days off

I had left the company once before (as a assistant manager) due to poor higher managment and was asked to come back as a manager. I became a manager of a fairly new store in 2004 but before I transfered to this store I started to get ready a older store for inventory, and it was in very bad shape.

I am a very deicated person and loyal to those that work with me. I worked side by side with my associates, making sure the pay roll was handed out fair with what little pay roll I was given. The customers and my assoicates had a great relationship and many wonderful people I became aquainted with.

Many weeks I worked over 80 hours and some of up to 96 per week that is more than most work, but like many managers we are only paid for 52 hours per week, the training I recieved was only what I taught myself with the strands books that is required by FDS for managers, and what ever else I got my hands on to read. I am intelligent and very quick to learn what needs to be done. I have helped many others with information they need to know but thier managers did not train them well not surprised there. I recently quite this postion, one day a DM in triaing came to my store, we chated like friends he told me he just came to see me andi took it for just that, and he left the next day he came back, as not my friend, but as the attack dog of my DM she could not do her own dirty work, he jumped me about my any time 5 I was not ready I had just returned from medical leave, and whom they put in my store did not do much.

I was cleaning up two shipments, taking down xmas, and gettingmy end caps ready whiched I recieved only a few days ago prior to this. I also was triaing 2 others 1 an AMR and the other a cashier, my #1 AMR was out for 2 weeks. I had alreay worked 76 hours and he told me I could not have any days off till I had all this taking care of.
I guess that is the straw that broke the camels back. I was recovering from cervical neck disectomy and plating yet, and should not be working no more than my 52 hours but not with this company they dont care, but like I thought this was all planed out, they wanted me out, they told me there was no light duty my store is one of four in my town, yet one manger here is working light duty. My DM told me I had to be 100% to return.

There are so many things that are so wrong with this company, they endager you with all the ladder work, resting your ladders against windows and wall, hoping it wont slide with you on it. Working and lifting many things over head that weight a good bit. Leaving you alone in stores becasue you dont have the payroll for the staff. Placing safes in the windows so some one can drive by and shoot you. Working till you are so bone tired you make mistakes, and become sick.

The pay sounds ok but I calculated it once and seen that I was losing over 400.00 a pay period due to the hours I was putting in. My DM tells lies about others of things she says they did, I ask the people about it and they always tell me they did no such thing. Like she told me about a woman that wanted a managers job, she got on her hands and knees, no way, I asked, another lie is born to many lies and promises and to little done to assure good people good jobs. This company has distroyed families, and good people. I could go on for hours but that would stress me out again and the problem is no one helps us, maybe a union is in need here to help others not to be worked to death, but something needs to be done.
