Im at present a working manager for a family dollar store so I have to be descrete.
All you people are so right working at family dollar is a nightmare, but I have to work. But Im really tire of working 60 to 70 hours a week trying to get a day off is like pulling teeth. I never get to see my family Im tired of not having any time to myself and when I do get a day off they are calling me at home.
I know how you feel about truck trying to do door to shelf in 24 to 28 hours with no payroll to work with or no help. I run a 1.8 million dollar store and Im suppose to have 2 assistants I havent had 2 assistants since I took over the store in October I went to a store that was a dissaster and all I got was need to do this need to do that well the way I look at it is it didnt get trashed in one day and it wont get fixed in one day no matter what I do it is never enough.
My complaint is asst get paid hourly and when the get overtime which is forbidden because of our payroll budget but if they did they would make more then us but since overtime ia a no no quess who has to cover the shift thats right the manager.
I worked 3 14 hour days last week and then had to stay saturday until 2.30 in the morning because we were getting floors done, and now we have to be there on wednesday because managers have to do cycle counts, thursday is truck, friday is day after truck and of course saturday well we all know we have to be there on saturday they are making it so we dont have any days off
Im tired of working all these hours when I took this job it was for 52 hours not 65 or 70.
If anyone has a law suit going I would like to join.
