The company advertises of bartending and shot girl jobs on Craiglist.com, allowing the viewer to think that there are already positions open. Upon calling the company, you are told that a bartending license is needed, in order to obtain this job. They state that they will conduct mixology classes with you and award you a certificate for a total of $300.
On Saturday June 22, after asking (Samantha) about the return policy, and being told that it should not be a problem if I do not put down the whole sum, I put down $150. I was given a receipt that said non-refundable, which made no sense to me because I was told the opposite. Even after being given the receipt, I was told that it should not be a problem.
The Monday of the week following, I called for a refund and was told by Choice, the owner, that it would not be possible. I responded to this by telling him what Samantha said about a refund not being a problem. At that point, Choice told me I "have a case and [he] will look into it."
Over the course of three weeks, I go through a process of calling back multiple times, being given different numbers, being told that requests were submitted to corporate, and this matter would be taken care of. After a week, however, Choice has not responded and it seems he doesn't intend to.
He probably thinks that I'm done calling but I'm not. Not even close. All I have to say is don't waste your time.
The multiple numbers I was given are:
(718) 779-7030
(347) 898-7306
(347) 396-5854
(347) 488-3149
Have at 'em.
