I, Nerlande Duroseau a new homeowner in Valley Stream, NY.
I recently purchased a new home in Valley stream, NY on February 22nd 2013 from Prospect Mortgage.
The whole processed started a bit complicated because the house was a bank owned property and the attorney for the sellers US National bank are debt collectors which made the processed more complicated than a regular purchased, every time Prospect Mortgage asked for an extension to gather information together for the loan Rosicki & Rosicki debt collectors attorney for the sellers asked for an additional $10,000.00 dollars on two different times and a per diem fee of $100.00 dollars per day until the deal was closed, which totaled $23,300.00 dollars, I had no choice but to find that additional fund and provided to my attorney otherwise I was going to lose my down payment I had on the house which was $10.000.00 dollars, I didn’t want to risk losing my money so I went along with them and paid the amount.
Prospect mortgage took that long only to find information on a contractor that was referred by a crooked HUD Consultant Alonza Lloyd, who was referred to me by the loan officer for Prospect Mortgage Christopher Conlan. Which was not supposed to happen neither one of them shouldn’t be referring me to people to help me inspect or work on my home, I was so busy trying not to lose the deal, I went along with what Christopher Conlan told me to.
Alonza Lloyd so called HUD Consultant did the inspection on the house, picked out what he felt needed to be fixed not what was supposed to inspect according to FHA guidelines for me to occupied the home, he left out the roof which is falling apart and shingles loose falling down, there were two broken windows which I fixed myself he left out, two bathrooms were badly done and the plumbing, I fought for many weeks arguing for a gas boiler, the HUD Consultant ordered an oil boiler to be installed, the contractor RS Construction who I was told had no licensed to work in Nassau County or a permit to work in my home came in with a phony plumber who had no idea what he was doing, took over 45 days purchased an oil boiler installed it, then told me that he needs oil in the oil tank, I purchased $1700.00 dollars’ worth of oil, to find out two weeks later called me to tell me that the house was wired for gas and that I need to buy a gas gun to connect to the oil boiler for $689.00 dollars for the part and to pay $1200.00 dollars for labor, I refused because I didn’t want an oil boiler in the first place.
Because they work was so delayed the landlord where I lived refused to give me more time, so I had no choice to move in a dirty cold house.
I argued with someone at the bank, they forced the construction workers to come back to provide heat in the house since they lied and said I had heat, the plumber came in with three other guys in the middle of the night tried until 01:45 am, they turned the water on to test the pressure on the house water was leaking all over the house from upstairs second floor, first floor and the basement, they didn’t fix the pipes from the baseboards, so they shut the water off and ran and left me with no heat or water running in the house, it was very cold and uncomfortable.
Again after calling the bank they had the inspector come in to inspect the house, he turned the water on and while the hot water was running he put a thermometer facing the water which made it look like the house had heat, meanwhile I had an appointment with an inspector for the homeowners insurance who coincidently came in and witness that the house actually had no heat and the pipes were all busted and leaking even the brand new copper pipes that was installed by the plumber were leaking, the inspector was so furious with the whole work that was done by the RS Construction company, he was arguing with the HUD Consultant, asking him why is this lady living in this house that’s so dirty and has no heat, the foundation job was poorly done, the pool which they originally had to put a lining in they left that out the fence job need to be fixed and the roof, why did he left the roof out and not get that fixed, they were so focused on taking the money and run without doing any work, he couldn’t answer any questions to the insurance inspector, he just kept walking away.
I went to consumer affairs in Mineola filed a complaint on RS Construction and still waiting for results; I have no idea what to do anymore! I need help, I’m a democrat who vote and supported many politicians, like volunteer for Suozzi, Kathleen Rice and many more, I’m presently a firefighter and EMS volunteer for North of Hempstead, I need someone to please take a minute an hear me out PLEASE!
A few weeks later after the inspector for the homeowner’s insurance company visit the insurance company sent a letter because with so many violations found in the house that the consultant missed out on, my homeowners insurance is now cancelled, I just received the refund check on Friday.
What am I supposed to do now? And why are these people getting away with this?
On Saturday I picked a certified letter from an attorney representing the RS Construction Company to put a lien on my house after all they put me through for over $21,000.00.
Prospect Mortgage, Rosicki & Rosicki, Alonza Lloyd and RS Construction Company owner Mohammed Hossein and Reaz Khan are all the company responsible for all of what I’m going through.
