Duwayne Trowell, aka Trowell Builders, aka J.E. Trowell Construction, aka James Trowell Building & Construction did deplorable work on my house. When I sought redress, finally seeking the help of the local TV stations, it turned out Duwayne Trowell had only an 800 number and could not be found in reverse directory, had only a P.O. Box, so no street address was available for service, and was functioning under the business license of a relative in SC, James Trowell, of Aiken.
In fact, an attorney in Augusta, GA, could find no trace of Duwayne T.'s having a business there and the City of Aiken had no record of his street address either.
I called the State Licensing Bureau and Duwayne showed up when the State Inspector came.in front of the Inspector, I asked Duwayne for his street address. He gave it to me. When I filed in Aug., GA Small Claims Court, the Constable called to inform me that there was no such address.
These workers left behind gouged walls, a leaky roof, and in time a wall mildewed by the leaky roof and a floor rotted around the commode. Trowell was supposed to replace the flange, but only patched it. He told the State Inspector that it was not supposed to be replaced, even on the Inspector's showing him a letter from the City stating that he had told them it had been replaced and not patched.
Just as an aside, when drywall was delivered during house refurbishing, it was left on the lawn, uncovered, in rainy weather. This then dragged mildew/mold through the entire house. Upon moving back into the house, I had to pay someone to wash every inch of wall, floor, ceiling, and every spindle on the bannister to the upstairs.
