I received a few phone calls on my cell phone, that I was unsure who they were, the first call was on 12-15-04 at 1:23pm, and I had bad reception, so I didn't know who was calling and hung up.
Then at 2:12pm that same day I received another phone call from a private line, and I did not pick up.
Then at 4:01pm that same day, I received a call from a number 00000000, and did not pick up.
Then at 6:37pm that same day, I received a call from 727-471-0402 and did not pick up.
Then at 11:43am today (the next day), I received another call from 727-471-0402, and I was in a final so I did not pick up.
Then at 12:42pm today, I received a call while driving, and I did not see the number, however later looking it said private.
This was the first time I actually spoke to the scammer. He had a very thick accent, and I could barely understand him. He said his name was Brad Miller (which sounds American, and he did not sound American), and his agent ID number was 2264 and that he was calling saying that I was able to receive $500-50,000 in government grant money.
He said that I would receive it in no longer than 8 mths, but it usually took 3-5 mths. He gave the number 1-800-409-4224 to call for information. And he said I would be receiving a package to fill out in the next 7-14 days.
I told him I was driving and told him to tell me what he needed to quickly so I didn't need to be on the phone while driving, and he said the same thing about 50 times, about receiving money from the government because I paid my taxes and had a savings or checking account, blah, blah, blah. He said he would call me back after being on the phone for 15 minutes. I told him to call my home phone because I receive bad reception in my house.
He has not yet called my house, however, I called my mother as soon as I got off the phone with him, and she told me to call my dad and ask him what he thought about it. And to look up online if I couldn't get ahold of him. I looked up online and found your site. (THANK YOU!!!)
Thankfully, I found this site before the guy called me back. I never gave him any information about my savings or checking account, so I do not have to worry about him taking my money. However, I wanted everyone to know what these people are doing, which is why I listed the different numbers that show up on caller ID on my cell phone.

If you receive any of these numbers on your caller ID, your best bet is to pick up and say, "Screw you, you lousy, good for nothing, crooks! I will not give you any of my money, why don't you go find a job! Do not call me again!" Then slam your phone down, or beep at them, then hang up on them.
They try to get you to pay a fee of 200 or more for sign up. I couldn't hear him when he was telling me about this, however, I found this out by looking at other reports. All I could here him say was something about a draft day, and that was when I was concerned. Anytime anyone says draft day to me, it doesn't sound like a good thing.
I had told him a few times that I did not have the money to purchase christmas gifts this year, and I think that is the reason he did not call me back. Because he realized I did not have the money for him to take. However, I might be giving him too much credit, he still might call after I'm done filling out this report.
I hope he does call me, and at that time, I will direct him to this site, and tell him to get a F*ing job. And I also, informed my counsler at school, to send out an email to all the students informing them of this scam. Because my school is very expensive, I know some people might be dragged in and lose money.
Hopefully others will research this scam before giving these crooks any information about them. And hopefully my report will help others protect their money.
