We got a new freezer from Sears on Dec. 8, I renewed my service contact with them in Feb. & the contact end Feb. 8.
Our freezer stopped working on April 12. I called for Sears & they said a service man would come & all the spoiled food wood be paid for up to $300. The service man arrived today & said that there is corrosion on the tubing & it is not covered, I called Sears service and told them what the serviceman said & she looked at contract & it said corrosive parts are not covered & because of this the spoiled food is not covered. This unit is only a little over a year old.
When you buy something they should tell you that certain things are not covered. I do not think it is fair that they mislead you with service contracts.
The freezer is in our mobile home & our unit has central air & heating
which is always running even when we go north for a few months.
The freezer is always shut off & unplugged with the door ajar when we leave. When get back we plug it in and it starts up.
I hope that you can help us, we have lived in Florida for 22 years.
When I lived in New York I had a problem with a problem & called the Attorney General there & they resolved the problem, I hope that you can too.
Sincerely,
Richard J. (Personal Information Removed)
