In October I called Sirius to not renew my contract and was told it would be cancelled and not renewed as of March 2.in January or February I received a notice of renewal so I contacted Sirius by chat on its website to confirm it would be cancelled and my credit card not billed on March 2.in spite of these two confirmations that it would be cancelled and not renewed my credit card was billed for a renewal of the contract. When I saw that charge on my credit card bill on March 9 I called Sirius at its 866 number and spoke with Tracy, told her what had happened and insisted that the charge to my credit card be reversed. She tried to offer me a "better deal", to set up a different account and otherwise to convince me not to cancel my contract as the contract provides I can do. Finally, at very strong insistence that she do nothing but reverse the charges immediately, she finally agreed and said they would remove a charge of about $2.00 less than the amount charged to my card, because "You did not call us." She said the charge would be removed "within two weeks." The other complaint I see here does not give me great help that it will be removed as agreed.
I suspect this is an intentional, fraudulent and deceitful practice of Sirius XM to confirm a contract will be cancelled and not charged without any intention of doing so in an attempt to get users to let the charge for the contract that was to be cancelled remain, or be missed by the user, or to set up an attempt to get the user to change his or her mind or agree to a different contract.
I am curious to know if others have had this experience with Sirius XM.
