Judges, doctors, and even Kroger's doctors agree that I have RSD, Chronic pain syndrome and other injuries from a work-related injury. I even won a civil lawsuit for the injury! But Krogers-who is a self-insured workers comp company-keeps taking away my medication, sends me to doctors across the state time and time again, and denies me a cure—nerve blocks—even after it has been proven that nerve blocks will more than likely cure me by a diagnostic test (that I finally got after six years of my lawyer fighting for me).
Give me the series of nerve blocks, and I'll be off the medicines, I won't need to see doctors, and I will be out of pain and have use of my limb again—that's what I keep asking Krogers, but they keep laughing at me as they make me run in circles, lose job after job because of this medical injury, and become depressed and suicidal. I won't quit, though. Krogers is thumbing its nose at the law and I am going to fight until Kroger's gives me my treatments, compensation, and has its self-insured WC status revoked.
As much as we jibe about government red tape, I know that the government would treat me better than The Kroger Company has treated me—and probably will treat me. My lawyer and I will fight, even though I'll probably die soon—if not from the pain then from my depression.
