Unauthorized use of bank account - Hotel Package

I did not have an itinerary listed under "my trips" and the debit card I tried to book the trip with had a daily limit. Due to the limit I was unable to book. Without my approval, AirTran charged my bank account $815.20. I never had a confirmation # or email. I called Orbitz first, and after a 12 minute wait in the middle of the day on a Wednesday (?!) I finally spoke to a person. She could not explain to me how AirTran would have been granted approval to deduct this amount from my account and she asked if I was sure it wasn't just a pending charge. After explaining to her again that I never authorized the flight, (and did NOT have a confirmed Orbitz itinerary) she was able to get AirTran on the line. I was not able to speak to them to see if I could keep the flight THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR because I was told it would have been part of a package (WHICH I WAS WILLING TO PAY FOR). AirTran refunded the charge, which I was told would take 5 business days. For my "trouble" I was given a $50 travel credit through Orbitz for future travel... Oh, but I could not rebook my vacation if I wanted the credit yet because that also would take a few business days. Are you kidding me? Do you want my business or not? After hanging up the phone, still uncertain how AirTran could have been authorized to deduct $ from my account I called them. AirTran informed me that their notes said that after the initial denial of debit card limit, Orbitz was able to phone authorize the payment. Really? Why did I never receive a confirmation email or have the flight listed in "my trips"? I am extremely frustrated that I am now waiting for my unauthorized airfare to be put back into my account so I can rebook my Disney trip during peak season while my preferred flight is booking up. Please tell me why I am getting a measly $50 travel credit for an $800 MISTAKE? How or why would I use Orbitz again?
