I used Datapipe's shared hosting then upgraded to a dedicated server for over a year because of the contract and had some very serious problems. I lost a hard drive and they had my backups configured to my old shared server. Needless to say I had to redo quite a bit of the servers configurations. Their network seems to noticeably lag quite often.
They directly billed a bank account of a multi million dollar company. I was terminated by bad management and brought back by the owner to initiate a hostile takeover. I called them and asked their fax number and faxed the legal documents showing the removal of the old management and the owner's driver's license and my driver's license. They finally bring down the server because they do not know the password to reset it.
A sales guy and his boss was asked what we could do to get the files. I said we would go to the Secretary of States Office and have them verify the business corporate ownership as well as our identity. They did not return my calls said they were out of the office, on a datacenter tour, etc Our attorney even contacted them with no response.
I emailed every address including [email protected], no one cared. Finally support emails me a link to my files and it was the files from my shared hosting box I stopped using over 11 months ago. They said that the old files were deleted because of non-payment. How was it shutdown for non-payment when it was directly taken out of our bank account EVERY MONTH INCLUDING THAT ONE!
Thank goodness they did not stop my shared SQL server account as I requested. I was able to reconstruct my database and retrieve my information in the SQL server. Needless to say instead of paying my attorney to beat them up I will let everyone and the BBB know their operating practices.
