I received a letter of confirmation of cancellation of services. I hadn't cancelled services. I called the # they gave me in the letter. The auto voice said i shoul go online to handle it. I did. The live help took quite a while to respond. Then "jerry b.", the live help said he could do nothing to help me. I'd have to call the #. I called again. The woman stated that i didnt have privileges to get the information. I told her its my bill, my computer, its in my name, & noone else has my permission to change anything. & i live here alone.
After going a few rounds she asked me for the acct # on the statement. There was no acctso she finally took the confirmation# off it. She stated that i should just not worry about it because it has nothing to do with me. It was a mistake & didnt i ever hear of a mistake before? So "just dont worry about it".
I told her that i wanted an email or a letter stating the fact that it was an error for my own protection. She stated "we dont do that. You dont need one. It was a mistake. Just forget about it." i expained to her that i wouldnt forget about it because about a year ago i signed of for a free tial with aol & cancelled during the free trial & even with a letter of confirmation of cancellation in my hand they continued to bill me for it until i just paid them.
I didnt cancel anything this time & they tried to say i did & that they would bill me for any charges incurred. I asked to speak to her supervisor & she was meaner still. When she repeatedly stated she would not send me a letter or an email clearing me of the responsibility of debt from someone elses acct i said okay then, i want to record what you are telling me. & she said in a nasty tone i'm sorry we dont let you record anything we say. All through the whole thing she'd kept talking about that i must have some association with that other acct.
Even though it wasnt in my name. There must be something i can do about this. For one thing, thats why i didnt cancel at that very moment. I know they track every move made by their customers so i want them to track me reporting them by their own crappy lying service.
If this helps even one little bit to expose that company for being the rip off that it is & helps make it possible to keep them from continuing to do it then i'll sure feel a heck of a lot better.
