Although billing themselves as a free encyclopedia, wikipedia.com is comprised of a select group of individuals who are practicing the art of writing bland, half-truths, and not interested in any type of controversial subject matter.
While attempting to disguise themselves as a legitimate source of information, they routinely delete entries that have the slightest bit of controversy attached to them.
I attempted to post a legitimate article having to do with atrocities committed by a well-known local figure in Phoenix. Posted in an attempt to give a more well-rounded view than the bland, positive slanted article already posted, I tried to add to the original only to have my posts repeatedly deleted. When I posted a separate article, it was summarily dismissed as hearsay, copyright infringement (although I never got an answer for the question of how one plagiarises themselves), and libelous statements. After a couple of months of having my journalistic integrity questioned, being accused of lying (by those with precious little knowledge of the subject), and essentially being degraded - my post was deleted altogether.
My word of warning? If you intend to contribute to the information superhighway - avoid Wikipedia. If what a posting individual writes does not fall in line with the political slant "they" desire - it will be summarily deleted once they finish trying to make the author less than intelligent.
