Not paying for work provided scam artists Internet

The company called "Gigwalk" had teamed up with the company called "MyWebGrocer" and has been posting some work on here lately - and let me just quickly tell you about my experience with them.

I first contacted them about an ad for some product photos in the beginning of March. They said they needed to iron out the details and would get back to me.

Four weeks later - they've finally got the details figured out and the store location picked and all that jazz. I'm supposed to contact them the following day (Lunds in Brooklyn Park) to setup a time to go there and shoot the photos.

Turns out they don't know their heads from their a*es - as the morning I was supposed to contact the store - they needed me to postpone again. Something isn't properly figured out - so we need you to wait another week. Okay... Whatever. Not a big deal. Finally get the okay again after something like 8 more days and contact the store - who has no idea who I'm supposed to talk to, as I hadn't been given a name of any particular contact within the store.

Super

Duper. Six phone calls and 3 days later - I tracked down the proper contact within the organization (Lunds) and setup a time to come in to photograph 50 product photos for their website.

The Lunds employees were extremely personable and helpful during my time there - so I don't want anyone to think that this is in any way their fault. Anyhow - fast forward to the day that I showed up there to shoot the photos. I was supposed to "check in" via their smartphone application at the "gig". Well, it turns out they just completely dropped their android support between the time that I downloaded the application and when I arrived at the store. "No big deal, I can check you in manually", Steven Larson of Gigwalk said to me. (The same guy not returning any e-mails/voicemails about my payment. I should've left and saved myself the headache right then) but I was given a list of 50 items. The store I went to carried SIX of them. And I don't know if you've ever searched around a grocery store for a list of items by UPC and horrible descriptions (not spelled right, etc) - it was an absolute nightmare. The managers of that store - when they saw the list of items - all said "Uhhh... Where did you get this list? We haven't ever carried most of those items.

It's now been 9 days since submitting the images - and requesting payment - they're just not responding to phone calls or e-mails. I even tried sending another invoice a few days ago that went completely without a response.

Do NOT work with this company. Perhaps they need a year or so to sort out all the kinks in their system - but this has been the most absurd work experience of my life, and I've had some pretty sh*tty jobs!
