Complaint / Review
Time Warner Cable
Sent to collections - dsl

7/27
I recently moved in the middle of May and had Time Warner cable as my internet provider. When I called to have my service transfered the agent I spoke to told me I would get a better deal by starting a new service. I reluctantly agreed.

I was told to return the old equipment box to a location in Covina, CA. Upon going to the location I found that it didn't exist. I was not able to return the internet box at this time. On July 14th I received a letter in the mail that I had not returned my equipment and I was being charged an equipment fee. This bill from Time Warner stated that the due date for this equipment fee is July 30th.

I called Time Warner and was once again redirected to two Time Warner stores that didn't exist (Pasadena, and Santa Clarita). No one on the phone could confirm that any of the locations existed. I was finally able to get an attendent who gave me a PO BOX in the city of Industry to return the box to. I mailed the device to this address.

Then prior to the July 30th billing date I recieved a phone call from collections stating my account had been sent to collections. Hmmm, how have I been sent to collections when I still have a few days to pay?
I also called Time Warner again and they told me the PO BOX that I sent the equipment to is not valid and the box will be returned to me. Everyone on the phone is friendly but no one can help me. They told me once I return the box (which hasn't come back to me in the mail), they will help fix the creditor situation.
Now I am at a cross in the road and don't know if I should pay collections or Time Warner. Both say I have money due.

Time Warner needs to know if my credit is effected I will file legal action.
