Internet Auction SCAM

I thought I'd seen just about everything until I saw this site advertised on TV a few days ago. After I saw the ad I did some searching on the Internet and checked out the site itself. I should have checked here first before I lost my money.

At first it seemed okay, I was cautious and I did win a couple items and got a couple really good deals. I got a $20 optical mouse with a winning bid of $0.10 and it only cost me 2 bids so total cost is $1.30 plus shipping. Next I got a $64.00 TV Series on BR-DVD for a bid of $0.31 and it cost me 13 bids for a total cost of $8.11 plus shipping. And next I got a $25 Amazon Gift card for a bid of $1.10 and it cost 4 bids for a total cost of $3.50 and it was sent electronically. I felt pretty good after 3 small attempts on the site. But after that is when I thought if I can do this think what I can do on a bigger item. I think I know how it feels to be a fish and to get hooked. What's really crazy is after my first rip-off auction I should have just stopped. But I felt like maybe I just did something wrong, NOT.

After the rip-off I did some checking and saw that you can't see who everyone is like you can on eBay. No profiles, no past auction info on anyone, just yourself. So how do you know that some of these people bidding are not people just driving up the price or I should say just driving up the number of bids. There is no way of knowing if some of these bidders are shills for the company.

I am typing this as I'm watching an auction taking place that I just used 272 bids ($163.20) on and had to quit or pull my hair out. The item is a Kindle DX valued at $537.90 but QuiBids is going to make a mint off just this one auction. It's still not over and the price is already at $95.74 which you might think is a really good deal but this is a two penny auction which means there has been 4787 bids so far on this item and it has netted QuiBids $2,872.20 on a $537.90 item. Plus there are at least three bidders on this item that I have been watching for the last hour and they have put in well over 3 times the amount of bids I put on the item and they are still bidding. So they are either really stupid bidders or shills for the company.

One part of this scam is that you can only see the last 9 bids on the item, you can't scroll back to the beginning so unless you've been watching the auction you can't really know who is bidding, how long and if things just don't add up. The rest of the scam is pretty obvious. All I can say is if you're thinking about QuiBids, save your money and your hair. You might get lucky on a couple small items but go after the big items and you're bound to get ripped off so bad you'll remember it for a long time. With our economy this site is built to make someone an awful lot of money real quick.
