I have had Verizon Wireless Broadband Internet service for about 2 years now. When I first signed my contract, they were just rolling out their broadband card plans. This was an "Unlimited" plan. Well about a year into my contract they changed the terms and conditions and made it so that if you exceed 5gb of service then you get charged a certain amount. Well based on my contract, they couldn't charge me for overuse; however, they did decide that they could intentionally slow my internet service down for 30 days every time it happened.
That bothered me, because it costs 59.99/month, which is already expensive for internet service. However, what bothered me even more was that they don't reset your internet once your billing cycle has changed. So at this point I have slow internet service and I have only used it for 2 days this billing cycle and am at 44mb. They said they would reset on Aug 11 which is a little over a week from now. And, if at that point I have used 5gb then it would be slowed until the 26th, so OVER 30 DAYS even though I am still paying the full price for service.
When I spoke with the supervisor, Kevin, there today, he stated to me that in their terms and conditions, it states that they can in fact "change their terms and conditions". Well what's the point of signing a contract if one party can change it at any time!?!?!
All I have to say is that this is a complete ripoff. And, they still advertise it as an Unlimited internet plan; however, read the fine print, you get a huge bill if you do exceed 5gb.
