We are limited income retirees. We budgeted for a new computer last October from Dell. A very big consideration was the $150 Rebate offer. My wife, who is very organized, followed the rebate instructions to the letter. That is;- we complied perfectly to requirements.
After a decent period of time elapsed I started inquiring into when the rebate will come through. This was by e-mail. The rip went like this. We have recieved your inquiry-due to heavy volume please do not re-inquire it will only delay further.
After an indecent length of time elapsed with no response, I went through telephone hell to speak to someone involved. Many calls later a Dell rep said all he could find out was that the rebate was denied -with no specifics. Surely they would advise me of whatever reasoning prevailed. No further contact.
From last October when I purchased the computer I still wait for my legitimate rebate. If they are wilfully denying rebate as a plan this is pure fraud. One step further, if their sub-contractor handling rebates exercised a wink and a nod denying all the wink & nod entails, then closing down of the rebate
operation (No more sub-contractor) leaves the customer holding the proverbial bag.
Dell is so arrogant they wont even talk to me. I have written the Lt Governor of California and will not stop until the right people get the message and overlook the campaign contributions.
