Now that I have become more concernced about my expenditures, I take the time to research companies before I do business with them. Unfortunately, I did not take that step in 2006 when I first submitted a $2,800 payment for a website design. If I had, I would've known that Heritage web solutions is a company that not only employs the most incompetent people in the state of Utah, but is managed and owned by a convicted felon (Mark Strong) who has skillfully discovered a method with which to continue scamming and defrauding people... LEGALLY!!! Unethical and as disgraceful as the actions of Mr. Strong and his employees might be, they appear to be legal. I have been paying for a website since 2006 that should have only taken approximately 2 weeks to complete.
Now, after spending almost $6,000 on the site, I still don't have anything to show for it. The staff refuse to return calls or address concerns (unless of course you're hosting payments are past due) and every week they develop a new expense with which you should be charged. How could they charge me for an entire year of hosting when the site isn't even complete? The site never went live and to date, I'm billed $39.99 per month for it. Last week, I discovered that Heritage had billed my credit card for $89.99 for a web update fee. What update?!!! The initial design hasn't been completed yet?!!! Their red neck customer relations manager is a pmpous ass named Mike Madsen who in so many words told me, "we'll get to you when we get to you" and the CEO of the company told me if I didn't like it, "tough."
Let me also point out that after a little research I discovered that the CEO, Mark Strong, was convicted in 1995 of Wire Fraud, Mail Fraud, and Identity Theft after stealing the identities of 39 people and running up credit cards in their names to the tune of over $197,000!! Because the federal government is easy on white collar crime, he served just 18 months in F.C.I. Jessup, in Jessup, GA which is a medium security federal prison. He never paid any restitution and according to his former partner David Aitken, Mark used approximately $35,000 of the cash from his credit card scams to fund Heritage's start-up. Before you invest your dollars into a company like that, read a few of the complaints from past consumers and employees of the company:
